Oldtown
Veterinary Hospital Employees Volunteer in Nicaragua and Return with
Unexpected Rewards... In November 2009,
Oldtown Veterinary Hospital employees, Courtney Pierce, DVM and Andrea
Flynn, volunteered with World Vets in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
While the goal of their trip was to combine their mutual passion for travel
with volunteering their veterinary medical talents, the experience ended up
giving back to them in ways they had not anticipated.

again!!! What can this mean to you and your pets?
In the United States, all hospitals that serve people with Medicare must be
accredited through an accrediting body, that is, they must undergo regular
reviews and quality checks to ensure they meet standards of quality for
every aspect of medical care. You might be surprised to learn that the
same is not true for veterinary hospitals. When it comes to pet health
care, accreditation is voluntary. In fact, nationally, only about 15% of
veterinary hospitals, clinics or practices are accredited. In Forsyth
County only 5 veterinary hospitals have earned accreditation.
